Matthew Huggins Associate
Matt’s focus as an attorney has always been on helping people through difficult circumstances. For the first eleven years of his career, he worked as a public defender where he handled thousands of cases and did more than seventy jury trials, including many involving the most serious felony accusations. After a time practicing general civil litigation, he migrated to family law, where he is again able to combine fierce advocacy with counseling in the broadest sense.
Matt holds B.A.s in Philosophy and Classics (Greek and Latin) from the University of Washington, an M.A. in Eastern Classics from St. John’s College, and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Before finishing college, Matt served as a U.S. Marine infantryman with First Battalion, Third Marines (1995-1999).
Matt enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains of New Mexico with his wife and daughter.
Matt has been a member of the New Mexico Bar since 2006 and the U.S. District Court of New Mexico since 2011.
